How it Works
DSMART, at its core, is a data company. We maintain transactional data for millions of live transactions every minute of every day. The source of this data and the core of the ICR solution suite begin at the retail location. It is our POS terminal that sits on the counter at the store level. Our POS is a complete retail support solution including scanning, multiple payment support, intelligent pricebook, PLU support and reports for sales and sales tax. Two versions are available; ICR POS Professional™ for single stores and ICR POS Enterprise Editionô for multiple store operations. There is not a more capable or powerful POS solution available than either version of the DSMART ICR POS suite. Our data center is the brains of the operation. All transaction data is transmitted to our data center via the Internet in real time. This not only allows the store access to all of the power of our sophisticated data operation but also serves as the hub for the interaction with the distributor and supplier. Every transaction in our network is available for analysis or review within seconds. The wholesale distributor has visibility into what is going on at the retail level. Product turns, inventory levels and stock replenishment are managed by the distributor via our ICR MarketConnect™ applications. In addition, promotions and buy-downs can be pushed to the store automatically in the system which, in turn, will effect price book changes automatically. The manufacturer has access to live sales data for the first time via the ICR MarketScopeô tools. The manufacturer can view transactional sales data, access shipment data, track buy-downs and coupons and push promotion to the retailer in real time.
